Finish and a new start

I finished the basketweave hat made from Catalina baby alpaca. In addition I started a new basketweave in white baby alpaca.

Another new hat is one styled after a hat worn by Angelina Jolie on the cover of "Us" magazine. I'm making for my friend JoAnn who loves celebrity stuff. I'm using a chunky weight, but the hat is not coming out as dense as I had hoped. I tried a bulky, but that is too dense.

store had I searched in Purl Soho and Yarn Tree in Williamsburg. Neitheranthing in between. I have read that yarn Co on the upper west side the is the best store in the city. I will have find a yarn that is between the two and make the hat again. Monica F. is also interested in the Brangelina hat. Found the pattern on Crazy Aunt Purl web site.
