Summer is Over

Today is the first day of Autumn. Summer is over and so is my super hectic schedule. Now I only have a regular hectic schedule.

My kayaking duties of organizing trips on the East River are officially over until next year. This means that paddling between now and next May are for me only. Our boathouse is in a lot of transition so there may not even be a next year.

Right now we share a space with a sailing school and yesterday they changed all the locks (to the boathouse, parking, pier, etc) without giving us a key. Wonder what the landlord will say about this? We are moving out of the space at the end of October anyway. Why not change the locks after we move out in a a few weeks? How can we move if we don't have a key? His half of the boathouse has got tons of wine & beer bottles in it. Not much sailing equipment. Hmmm. Doesn't seem like a coherent person to me.

Best plan is for me to let the boathouse chairman handle this. Hoping we can move to the new space sooner, rather than later.

In knitting news, I have not been knitting. Just crocheting like crazy!!!! Love, love, love the Babette Blanket project. I have 26 of the 125 granny squares left. Mainly the 4 round and a few 6 round squares. Will start sewing it together this weekend. It is my first blanket or afghan and it's addictive.

I've already ordered more yarn for the next afghan. Might cast it on at Shea Stadium during the Stitch & Pitch game. Winter Lace Afghan using Lion Brand Wool-ease Thick & Quick in Fig. Choose the color based on the new Crate & Barrel catalog. I already have the dark brown furniture, beige sofa and a few red and dark green accents. The fig will add the final jewel tone to the palette.

Will distract myself from kayaking woes with wool and a Flash tutorial this evening.
