Clapotis Unraveling

I started on the renowned Clapotis pattern recently and here is the progress. It's actually going a bit slower than I imagined. The stitches are small for a person used to knitting up chunky scarves.

I am only 20% done based on the amount of yarn I've used up from the four skeins. It was very exciting this Saturday to begin the unraveling process. I irrationally feared the entire scarf would unravel, but of course it didn't. In the pics, you can see the two lines of unraveling.
I'm not sure if I like the color pooling of the Lorna's Laces. It reminds me a little of camouflage, which I'm not fond of at all.

Many people have said they find this shawl boring knit. I find it very relaxing. Oh, and I want to thank a fellow knitter for recommending I purl instead of PM. Very easy. I'm in no hurry to finish it. The pattern is a repeat of 12 rows and I can watch TV, chat or just sit and think about life while knitting. It's almost a form of meditation.

That reminds me that I've heard knitting called the new yoga. Wish I could remember where I read or heard this.

  1. good news! the pooling will be much less evident when you drop down the stitches.

the change (from knit stitch to laddered "lace") will break up the pools of color!
